(Ini Pun Panasss...) Ketua Pemuda UMNO Sabah Dipecat? [Siri 2]

4 Mei 2011, Rabu

Prinsip `kill or to be killed'...Pemuda UMNO Sabah sudah mengimplementasikannya.

Bravo Pemuda UMNO Sabah! Selesai satu drama...rasanya ada lagi drama yang lebih `thrill' selepas ini...pasti ada selagi nafsu kuasa dan kekayaan belum pernah puas...

Kota Kinabalu: Sandakan Umno youth chief Awang Kadin Tang has been appointed the new Sabah Umno Youth Chief, taking over from Azman Roslan.

Making the announcement, Sabah Umno youth assistant secretary, Shahelmy Yahya, said Sabah Umno youth vice chief, Mohd Joh Wid, has been elevated to deputy chief.

"Other positions in the youth movement (for Sabah) remain the same," he said, after a Sabah Umno Youth extraordinary meeting, Tuesday. Khairy was unable to attend because he had a prior engagement in Kuala Lumpur.

Shahelmy said the minor reshuffle involved only Awang Kadin and Mohd Joh, adding that Azman will still remain Keningau Umno youth chief.

According to him, their appointments have been effective since April 25.

Extending the movement's appreciation to Azman's contribution and leadership for the past two years, he clarified that Azman was not sacked from his former post.

"There was no letter of termination given to Azman. In fact, I saw myself the appreciation letter given to him by Umno Youth Chief, Khairy Jamaluddin," he said.

Shahelmy said reshuffle in the leadership is normal in such organisation and that Sabah was not the first to do so.

"Umno Youth in Selangor, Perak and Penang also have seen their respective leaderships removed."

However, he reiterated that the restructuring exercise in Sabah Youth Umno was minor. "It is more towards strengthening the youth movement in view of the impending 13th General Election that could be held at any time from now," he said.

He also denied there is a division in the State's Youth Umno.

Sepanggar Umno youth vice chief, Mohd Razali Razi questioned the timing of Azman's removal, saying it had no proper justification and that it had sent wrong interpretations as well as signals to the State Umno Youth.

The removal, he said, was made prematurely without considering the views of all Umno Youth leaders in Sabah, including division youth vice chiefs.

Shahelmy said a total of 14 Sabah youth Umno chiefs attended the extraordinary meeting.

The rest were unable because they were overseas. He said Azman last Friday said Khairy would be announcing the reason for his removal from office.

He was informed of the changes in the State's Umno Youth leadership on Apr 25 adding that it was a normal matter and that he accepted the decision with an open heart.

Meanwhile, Awang Kadin thanked Khairy for his appointment and also extended his appreciation to Azman for the latter's contribution and leadership.

On behalf of Sabah Youth Umno, he said they fully support the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman to lead the State in the next general election.

In LAHAD DATU, Umno Semporna Youth chief, Mohd Azis Jamman, said Khairy must clarify whether the removal of Azman has got something to do with his appointment as Chairman of Felcra.
Mohd Azis said Azman should have also been given a chance to defend himself before his removal.

Since Azman's removal was done hastily it has also led to many questions in the Barisan Nasional (BN) political circle, especially the Youth movement, and created rifts among Umno Youth members in Sabah, as well, he said.

"We must acknowledge Azman's leadership where he was able to unite the leadership of youths at the division level following the party's Youth movement election in 2009," he said.

"In fact, during the Batu Sapi parliamentary by-election, Azman was among the main contributors to the BN's victory," he said.

Mohd Azis said this after attending the Umno Silam Youth annual meeting here, which was officiated at by Umno Kedah deputy chief cum International Trade and Industry Deputy Minister, Datuk Mukhriz Tun Dr Mahathir.

He hoped Khairy would give a detailed explanation because the issue might explode and cause a major split in Sabah Umno Youth, which is in the midst of preparing for the 13th General Election.

Umno Semporna Youth, he said was disappointed that the matter was not discussed first among the party's Youth movement in the State before the decision was made to remove Azman.
